Although Bursa Malaysia’s overall environmental impact is indirect, we still strive
to manage our operations in a manner which reduces consumption of resources and waste. In 2006,
Bursa Malaysia continued with its paper usage reduction and recycling initiatives. This will be an
important element in Bursa Malaysia’s support of Climate Change issues as we endeavour to reduce
our own energy use and carbon dioxide output.
In Oct 2007, we have managed to acquire the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System and the
ISO14001:2004 Environment Management System certifications. We are the first exchange to
simultaneously pursue and be awarded with these two ISO certifications. Our dual certifications
will enable us to further provide our stakeholders an assurance of quality in fulfilling their
requirements whilst optimising environmental performance.
